HAPPY ANNIVERSARY BABYBOY…

•May 28, 2008 • Leave a Comment

Dear Babyboy..

Happy Anniversary to you.. Its been 26 months since we went on.. And trust me, they are the best days of my life.. Know something?.. I never knew how much you love me till today.. The way you took care of me as I was sick.. Wow.. Frankly speaking, I did not expect both of us to last this long.. Thank you very much for changing so much for me.. I would not say that I did not suffer when we went on initially.. Especially during the period when you were trying to quit the gang.. But once you were out and started changing, all the pain I went through, simply vanished.. Nobody is perfect in this world.. So, I would not say that you are.. However, you are the best guy as far as Im concerned.. I’ve heard that the wedding vow has a line which says, “In sickness, I’ll nurse you back to health..”.. Today, you proved that right.. I really don’t know if my mum would have taken care of me so much.. No mum would want to hurt their child.. Unfortunately, that is happening in my life for the past few months.. Without you, I really don’t know how I would have pulled through so much.. Well, these are words that most girls would tell their boyfriends.. But that is the special thing about relationships.. Someone who belongs to us, would seem like the best person in the world.. Though we fight.. We always manage to pull through.. And as you always say, even the moon has stains.. So, we can’t expect everything to be perfect.. I still remember the days when we used to quarrel almost everyday.. Im really thankful that those days are over and we have really matured now.. I don’t know whether Im keeping you happy.. But, hopefully I am.. Because, I always want the best for you and your happiness is what that really matters to me.. Once again,

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY BABYBOY..

Love,

Babygal

SUPERSTITIONS!!

•May 21, 2008 • 1 Comment

Hey friends.. Just want to get something off my heart.. Last weekend, I was getting ready to go to the temple when my mum shouted at me. She was not happy with me because I was wearing black! What the hell! I mean, its just a colour! Personally guys, I simply love black.. I really don’t know why.. But I don’t feel complete if I don’t wear something black when going out. And my mum says that black is meant for funerals! But, do you know something?! In Japanese culture, black is meant to be worn for happy occassions! My god! Hows that for lameness?! And its considered inauspicious to sneeze during happy occassions! Well, what is the poor guy supposed to do if he feels like sneezing during a wedding?! Oh, well! Oh! And of course, the famous superstition! Its considered bad luck when a black cat crosses our path! Are we a pathaetic mouse or something?! Hehe! There is one more that says that we must not walk under a ladder. It kind of makes sense to me in a practical way.. As the ladder might drop on our head! Hehe! Though, I really don’t know what is the superstitious consequence is! And last but not least! If you break a mirror, you’ll suffer 7 years of bad luck! As far as Im concerned, the bad luck is to cut yourself with the broken pieces accidentally! Am I right, guys?!

ART OR GANGSTERISM?

•May 14, 2008 • 1 Comment

Is it art or gangsterism? This is the question that always hovers whenever the topics about tattoos comes up. Just last weekend, my dear boyfriend was cajoling me to let him have a tattoo on top of the four tattoos he already has. Firstly, his name on his right arm: He has amnesia and might forget his name! Secondly, at the back of his neck is a hindu religious symbol: How pious! Thirdly, the infamous NAUGHTY BY NATURE on his chest which I have posted at the top: No comments! And last but not least the thin line on his forehead which is supposed to be called a ‘tiam‘ which shows people that he is ready to fight anyone, anytime!: Ya, right! Ok friends from my sarcarsm you should know that I feel that that tattoos are just a sign of gangsterism. But my boyfriend thinks otherwise. So, whose correct? Frankly speaking I feel that both of us are right. According to my research tattoos existed even before the birth of christ. It was used by egyptians for religious purposes. So, something that was worshipped in the past is being discriminated now. Why is that so? I feel that it might be the way we view it. As all of us know Singapore Police Force does not allow people with tattoos in their bodies to join them. Even some companies do not allow their employees to have tattoos as they see it as something ‘indecent’. However, unlike asians, westerners are more broad-minded. I watched a show recently where a mother from the USA had tattooed her dead daughter’s face on her back! Not just the name but the face! Hows that?! In my opinion, I feel that being brought up in an orthodox family has made me narrow minded too. And through my boyfriend’s constant explainations about tattoos, Im starting to have a more positive thinking about them. In a way, I feel that our society should not diiscriminate against those with tattoos and just accept them as who they are. Well, if that happens I feel that tattoos bearers would have a better sense of belonging to the society. By the way, I have still not consented to the issue that i mentioned above. Hehe.. Ok friends! See you all in my next post! Bye!

BIRTHDAY PARTIES!!

•May 7, 2008 • 1 Comment

Oh… Just managed to get away from my mother’s nagging. Today is my niece’s birthday. We are celebrating it on Saturday. Thus the nagging to clean up the house. I always wondered about something. What’s so great about birthday parties and why must we invite our loved ones over on the day we are born and have them sing birthday song to us?(Which can be quite embarrassing sometimes).. So, I decided to do some research. And, hey! I found some interesting facts. It seems that in the past, evil spirits were considered to be in favour of attacking humans on their birthdays. So, it was a tradition for loved ones to gather around the birthday person and “protect” them against the spirits! Ok.. I can hear some of my pals uttering LAME under their breath. But, fancy that! Its like a totally new concept of birthday parties! Though, they can be viewed as childish sometimes. Personally, I feel that birthday parties is a great way to enjoy yourselves and of course, ahem, to get presents. Hehe.. Oh ya.. Another point I just thought about. As far as I know, we Indians believe that we should not celebrate our birthdays before the actual day as we feel that our lifespan would be shortened. And Its the opposite for the chinese if Im not wrong. Hehe.. In a way, I feel that all these are just superstitions. I’ve celebrated my birthday up till my sweet 16th one. My most unforgettable one would be my 18th which was a surprise birthday party planned by my boyfriend. Well, birthday parties just seem to be something all of us enjoy no matter how old we are. And who will resist a yummy slice of cake topped with icings and everything?! Hehe.. Oh drag.. Thats my mum calling me again. See you guys!

UNAWARE OR TOTALLY IGNORANT?…

Sleeping Beauties?!Argh!!

Hi friends.. You know,guys?.. Im totally WARY of our fellow Singaporeans.. I know. Most of you’ll be smacking your foreheads in frustration as I have chosen such a common and ‘boring’ topic. But, Im totally helpless! Really! Especially for the past few weeks since I started attending poly, I’ve been taking public transports during peak hours and have come to know about the ugly side of our fellow citizens. Sorry to say this. But, some of them can be totally moronic! Last week, I was waiting for train at Choa Chu Kang MRT Station. I had already missed two trains as they were too crowded. Then, this WELL-DRESSED YOUNG man who seemed really EDUCATED rushed right in front of me and slipped past me to board the train. I was so pissed off!

I feel that Singaporeans discourtesy and inconsideration does not only shows up at public transports but at other places too. I have come across so many people at the Banquet at Jurong Point behaving totally immaturedly. I remember one evening when I went there with my boyfriend to have dinner. There were no empty seats so we just stood aside waiting for someone to finish their meal. A few tables away, I saw a couple finishing up their meal and preparing to leave. So, we made our way towards their table. The woman saw this and sat down again and so did the man. The woman coolly took out a container of cup-corn and started eating it! Moreover the cup-corn was not even bought at the Banquet! They had bought it at the ‘pasar-malam’! Worse still, both of them were chuckling and saying something to each other in their own mother tongue while eyeing us! My god! Hows that for childishness?!

Singaporeans can be totally insensitive about people’s feelings sometimes. I was working in a call-centre as a telemarketer while waiting for my ‘O’ Level results. The job required me to call up clients to promote them credit-cards and convince them to sign up. The clients, mostly businessmen and people holding very good jobs were so rude! They never think that the person speaking on the other line is also a fellow human-being too! I had clients who had even hurled vulgarities at me.

As a Singaporean, I hope that such things will stop and and our fellow citizens would change their attitude. If this continues, I feel that problems with much serious consequences might occur and our reputation among other nations can get affected through that.

OUR OLDEST AND HARDEST ‘ANCESTOR’..

•April 22, 2008 • 2 Comments

Hi friends! Well, just a humble warning to all of you from yours truly. Please do not view this post right after a meal. Hehe.. My inspiration for this ‘wonderful’ post is an incident that happened last sunday night. At about 3am in the morning, I woke up to answer the call of nature. And guess who greeted me at the entrance of my toilet?

Hehe..Thats right friends! A big dark brown cockroach was staring straight at me! I felt like puking! The thought that no one was at home and I was trapped alone with this monster made me petrified. Fear blocked my senses too. Instead of just spraying the can of ‘BAYGON’ that was right before my eyes, I used a library book that was lying nearby and slammed on the pest. A few of its legs tore and it was struggling helplessly on the floor. Pleasured by the torture I had put it through, I repeated my action with a new surge of energy. And.. Are you ready for this?! Its ‘intestines’ or whatever that was, spilled out! The once solid creature lay as a messy mixture at my feet. Victory was sweet! After that gruesome murder that I committed and not bothering to dispose my victim’s body, I sat in front of my laptop and tried to research about my victim. One interesting fact about it is that it is one of the oldest creature on earth and also the hardest. And our friend can survive without a head for many days and even if it dies after that, the headless condition of it, is not the cause. Its death will be due to starvation as it does not have a way to feed itself without a head! Fancy that! Another disgusting fact is that people in the past used to grind them up or boil them to use them as medicines for earaches or open wounds. And these beings actually leave a trail of their waste so that other roaches can detect them and follow it to discover food and water! Well, Im quite amazed that a single murder that I committed  actually lead me to discover such interesting and equally disgusting facts about my all time enemy! And by the way, just another added information.. I did not clean that library book that was my murder weapon. My apologies to the next borrower! Bye friends!
